Festival Details

CORNWALL CAMRA WILL BE HOLDING THE FALMOUTH BEER FESTIVAL 2016 AT THE PRINCESS PAVILION, MELVILL ROAD, FALMOUTH TR11 4AR (5 MINS WALK FROM FALMOUTH TOWN AND RAILWAY STATION) THURSDAY 20th – SATURDAY 22nd October 2016

The festival is held at the Princess Pavilion which was built in 1910. The Princess Pavilion is a year round music, theatre and festival venue. Set in four acres of formal gardens called the upper Gyllyngdune Gardens which includes the veranda, original Edwardian bandstand and greenhouse. It is within easy reach of the hotels, bed and breakfast accommodation and there are three campsites nearby. The beach and town centre are only five minutes from Princess Pavilion.

The Falmouth festival will feature more than 240 real ales from breweries and microbreweries from across the country plus fantastic local ales. Housed within the cider tent are more than 60 real Ciders & Perries plus a range of bottled beers, Continental bottled beers and wines. Glasses with measures of Pint, ½ pint and 1/3 pint will be available at the entry desk. Hot and cold food will be available and there will be stalls and games. The Princess Pavilion also provides wheelchair access and disabled facilities. Various entertainment will feature on Friday evening and all day Saturday.

Opening times: Thursday 20.00 – 23.00; Friday and Saturday 11.00 – 23.00. Admission to all sessions is £10 which includes £6 worth of tokens, entrance charge, festival glass and festival programme for Non-members, CAMRA members will receive an additional £1.50 worth of tokens. A handled jug can be purchased for an additional £1.50. A £1.00 refund is available on return of each undamaged festival glass. Additional tokens can be purchased at designated points throughout festival venue. All unused tokens can be redeemed for full face value. Free festival re-entry on production of a current festival glass. You will be able to join as a CAMRA member on the day which gives you discounts to festivals, holidays and lots more.

Saturday 1-3.30 PM - The Wood

The Wood - Steve Jackson and Tom Palmer have got together to create a show that has a wide appeal to both young and old. Their music is performed using a variety of instrumentation ranging from; Acoustic guitars, Ukuleles, Mandocellos, Melodicas, Drums and Djembes. Added to this their two voices blend like one with a feeling and integrity to touch the heart of everyone watching and listening.

Saturday 4-6 PM - Joe Hurworth

Joe Hurworth is a popular, young, Newquay based singer/songwriter. Having played as a solo acoustic act for the last few years he is now fronting his own band performing a wide variety of music for all tastes, including old soul classics and modern pop.

Saturday 7-8 PM - "Oll an Gwella" the Song-singing, Kernow-loving, Smile-raising, Beer-swilling… Beauties!

"Oll an Gwella" (“All the Best” in Cornish) – is a rehearsed a cappella male chorus. All 12 choristers combine to perform a 4-part harmony repertoire that exceeds 70 songs including Sea Shanties, Cornish folk songs, traditional Male Voice, 1960s classics and Christmas seasonal arrangements.

Saturday 8 till Close - “Still Dizzy” Cornwall’s brand new 9 piece soul band.

"Still Dizzy" are a fresh new 9 piece funky soul band based in Cornwall. Playing a mix of uplifting classic and modern Rhythm and Blues and funky Soul. With a range of influences from Stevie Wonder to Amy Winehouse. Get ready to feel that sax!
